Rail wheels are made from forged and rolled
heat-treated high strength steel and can reach
from 650mm to 1250mm diameters according to
the wheel form and type. New wheels are turned,
using a lathe, to a specific profile before being
pressed onto an axle. ISCAR offers standard and
special turning and boring tools for the production
of rail wheels.
